Situation: An Ohio Community Action Agency was experiencing a lack of
consistency in the job descriptions and human resource policies and procedures
for their numerous programs. Attendance issues, struggles for program managers,
and confusion for staff were all results of the lack of consistency.
Strategic Solution: By providing relevant, timely salary comparisons,
updated job descriptions, an effective annual review system, a revised
attendance policy, and management training, advance4, LLC was able to assist
this agency in developing uniform, consistent human resource policies and
procedures. Once these procedures were established, advance4, LLC customized a
training program, and worked with managers to implement the new policies,
identify and resolve individual staff member issues, and communicate the new
policies with staff.
Result: The end result was a consistent hiring and review system, more
competitive wages, improved employee retention and attendance, and improvement
in overall staff morale within the agency.
