Situation: A large non-profit organization had begun their strategic
planning process but became bogged down in the process and the board and staff
were becoming increasingly frustrated. With their current strategic plan just
months away from drawing to a close, the organization felt the urgency of
completing their planning process.
Strategic Solution: advance4 LLC was engaged to assess planning process
to date and to develop a strategy for effective completion. advance4 LLC used a
board and staff survey tool to quickly assess the planning process to date and
to customize a process for completing the plan. Leveraging the work that had
been completed to date, advance4 LLC successfully designed and implemented a
planning process that utilized all of the prior components of the planning
process and brought the plan to successful completion.
Results: The planning process engaged a high percentage of board and
senior staff, and effectively facilitated the plan to conclusion. Particularly

customize the process to meet senior staff and board needs and expectations, an
extremely organized but flexible process for collecting information,
